Suikerbossie has magnificent views overlooking the valley of Hout Bay with Chapman’s Peak and the bay below. Flanked on the west by Llandudno beach, while Table Mountain forms the backdrop to the restaurant.
These views provide a wonderful atmosphere for your wedding day where drinks can be served on the lawns, while photographs are taken.
Weddings are co-ordinated by owners’ David and Miki Smith, who have operated this successful restaurant since 1990. New partner Clive Biggs has joined the team from the Hildebrand and has 12 years experience as a head chef. The team is completed by manageress, Louise Lotz and Sous Chef, Chris Bester.
A Kosher kitchen was built in 1998 (catering is supervised under the Beth Din), which allows the restaurant to host Kosher weddings.
Suikerbossie, The premier function venue, has two venues available. The Downstairs Venue caters for the larger wedding with minimum of 120 guests. The Upstairs Venue is for the smaller and more intimate wedding with a maximum of 70 guests.
The wedding ceremony can be held in the garden at no extra charge – gazebo, chairs, umbrellas and the use of our sound system can be utilised to announce the arrival of the bride. A bad-weather plan can be made with the ceremony taking place in the restaurant and the use of a red carpet can be made available for the bride’s entrance.
A log fire in our stone fireplace creates a warm and cosy atmosphere.
